up and comers: something white bridal boutique

last week i had the pleasure of meeting karin and rebecca, owners of a brand new bridal boutique, something white. the store opens next week in independence (see here for a map.) they will be carrying dresses from designers who you might not have seen in the cleveland or even ohio market including caroline devillo and lela rose, and a variety of accessories from haute bride jewelry, b. poetic and more.

they’ve asked me to be a part of their grand opening, so i’ll be making my first “public” appearance at their store next week!

i recently met lance anderson through some other already-came-up photographers. lance has been shooting commercial photography for some time now, so he knows his way around a camera. and now, with some help of new friends, he’s just busting into the wedding market and is available to shoot engagement pics, weddings, families, and more. for information about his introductory rates, shoot him an email.

my next up and comer is someone who has crossed my path in life a couple of times – in totally unrelated ways! it’s a long story but i’ve got to know her this past year as she started her new photography business.

introducing colleen reed photography. colleen got started with photography this year shooting a few weddings and several portrait sessions of engaged couples, families and babies. she’s available for weddings in 2010 and currently for portrait sessions (have you gotten your family photos for holiday cards just yet? if not, contact her today!)

new blog category: up and comers

i have a soft spot in my heart for new up and coming wedding vendors who are trying to break in the business. that was me a mere 15 months ago and i am still so very grateful for the clients who took a chance by hiring me as well as the vendors who took the time to meet me and let their clients know about my new business. while i have a degree in advertising and marketing, i know that word of mouth and referrals are worth more than any flashy add i could buy. thus, a new blog category i’ve decided to create to help spread the word about other new folks in the local industry who i know and are just starting out: up and comers!
