well, this is it – the last “in the numbers” post… and the 2009 recap post! WHAT A YEAR. i’m just dumbfounded thinking back about all the things that i’ve done this year and incredible people i’ve met. i’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with everyone out there, getting to know other north east ohio...
well, perfect timing! as i’m recapping my 2009 wedding and business stats, this particular blog post is another milestone…
as in a great movie with one of my favorite actors, gerard butler or a perfect score in bowling. or a LOT of time writing about northeast ohio wedding planning and coordination and weddings in general!
now to recap my heidzillas blog stats...
if you haven’t noticed yet, i’m a big fan of social media. i spend far too much time on my computer and my iphone reading facebook statuses, stalking tweets and… blogging of course. it’s no secret that other than organic web searches and word of mouth, nearly all of the promotion of the heidzillas business...
my lovely brides and a few bridesmaids and mothers of the brides have left me some kind words on wedding wire! i got a total of 16 reviews thus far this year.

being a wedding coordinator in as large of a “territory” as northeast ohio means you’re bound to put miles on your car. lucky for me, i got a new car in early june. between meetings, vendor appointments, pick ups and deliveries, rehearsals, weddings, set-ups, clean ups and everything else in between… i have driven over…

a tradition stemming from great depression that i’m still seeing at the weddings i’ve worked recently – six this year – are cookie tables. the ones i’ve counted this year are cookies made by friends and family of the brides and grooms, not ones provided by the caterers as part of reception packages. i have to say that...
cupcakes in lieu of a traditional wedding cake is a trend definitely on an upswing! it happened to be a big trend with our 2009 fall brides with 6 of our 15 fall brides serving cuppies cakes! and it’s no wonder… not only do they look darling, they are mighty tasty too! we saw a half...
while this may not come as a shock to anyone who’s been to a lot of weddings, in the wedding industry or keeps up with wedding day fashion, 21 of heidzillas brides this year wore strapless gowns. and they looked GORGEOUS! it surprised me, though, that only 4 of our brides, (2 of mine, 2 of Elissa’s) wore dresses that weren’t technically...
another trend that’s definitely on the up-swing is photobooths at weddings for guests to enjoy and sometimes in lieu of an additional favor. in my 2009 season, i saw 9 (yes 9 out of 25 again!) different photobooths from a variety of companies. all i can say is, guests love them! they were the “in” thing...
