lauren & kyle | october 16, 2010
ceremony: first church of god, ravenna
reception: guys party center – north ballroom
florist: baumann’s florist & greenhouse
centerpieces: above and beyond floral creations
photographer: joel simpson
videography: life’s moments
ceremony music: matthew skitzki
dj: bc entertainment
transportation: all occasions limousine
bakery: baby cakes
the hiring: i went to college with lauren’s matron of honor karen. karen insisted she hire me to avoid any wedding day snaffus. thanks karen!
the planning: i met lauren and went over all of the details she already had planned. being a teacher, she was super organized! a couple of weeks before the wedding, we met once more to finalize everything.
the results:
rehearsal
it was a great rehearsal because everyone got to take their places and take the time to get a sense of the day.

ceremony
it was a clear cool october day, perfect for a fall wedding. just outside the chapel doors, l&k had a memorial candle for an uncle and grandparent as well as some canvas photos.

in a room for waiting, all of their bouquets were set and ready to go!

back in the church, the alter was placed with two arrangements and their unity candle

the aisle runner was pre-set and ribboned off until the maids and bride made their entrances.

back outside, limo driver lou and i had fun decorating the limo with signs, balloons and cans

reception
while i was coordinating lauren and kyle’s ceremony, brittany was setting up at guys party center.

lauren created her own candy buffet – purple style.

every table included a sweetest day note.

lazy susan photo card box

all because two people fell in love!

memorial table at the reception

coordinating knife and flute set!

the notables:
favorite planning moment: i had some onlookers as i set up the ceremony site during the rehearsal who learned a few of my sneaky tricks ;)
unique detail: lauren and kyle have a “all because two people fell in love” art at their home and wanted to incorporate it into their wedding – thus they got all their family wedding photos and hung them with mattes behind their gift table.
biggest challenge: the ceremony and reception were back to back so clean up had to go quickly so i could transport the signature matte and some other items to the reception while guests were also coming in.
sources: lauren and kyle’s matching toasting flutes and cake knife and server were a set from things remembered.
fun fact: lauren’s matron of honor and kyle’s best man were married last year. the two introduced l&k (again) at a new year’s eve party when neither had dates.
