jenn & ryan | october 2, 2010
ceremony: bethel lutheran
reception: springvale ballroom
florist: fresh tendrils
photographer: essence of love
videographer: michael gaul
dj: freddie james
transportation: a1 mr. limo
bakery: cakes of excellence
the hiring:
jenn found me searching the internet for photos of her wedding site where i had just planned jillian and kevin’s big day.
the planning:
jenn and i corresponded via email for a bit before we met. once we did, i think we laughed more than we planned. i loved sharing in the excitement and fun of jenn and ryan’s wedding day. the week of, i was so glad i could be of assistance as she had a few snaffus – wedding related and not (hope that car’s fixed jenn!) and i was happy to relieve some of the random stresses.
the results:
ceremony my assistant brittany and i arrived early at the church to set the aisle runner and some other odds and ends. we had fun meeting all the family members who were involved (quite a few!) pretty soon it was time to get everyone down the aisle.

dress details shots with the photographers!

a wee bit blurry because they were moving but i can’t help but post this – i love this reaction!

reception i was so happy to be back again at springvale ballroom. i know that sarah and the staff there does a great job. after we finished some light set up, jenn and ryan’s parents came in to get a sneak peak of the great hall. then before we knew it, it was a party.
jenn’s friend michael is a professional videographer and put together a video recap including rehearsal shots from their big day.
can’t see the video? click here.
the notables:
favorite planning moment: jenn admitted that her wedding splurges were me and her jimmy choos. i admitted i liked being grouped with jimmy choos. thus, i HAD to get a photo with them :D

unique detail: jenn only asked her florist for one specific thing: picasso calla liles. she coupled them with fall colors and textures.
biggest challenge: both jenn and ryan’s parents are divorced, so we had four sets of parents. they made sure to include all families and did a great job.
sources: jenn used craft supply store disco ball mirror tiles to line her card box and make it sparkle.
fun fact: j&r met at work! jenn was nervous to start a new job but soon made friends with ryan. she didn’t think he was her type, but he asked her out and after a date at blake’s seafood and four years later, they were married.
jenn and ryan: we loved loved loved working with you and your guests! best wishes always!

jenn wrote us one of the sweetest reviews on wedding wire to date. we were glad she could say “told you so!”
I found Heidi by Googling my reception site, Springvale Ballroom. It turns out she had just done a wedding there and posted pictures. I didn’t think I could afford a wedding coordinator, but I e-mailed her for some info anyway. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I could have made. I decided to hire Heidzillas to coordinate my wedding day. They were WONDERFUL! From the beginning Heidi was there for me. She honestly loves weddings and loves to make your day be as perfect as possible. She was there for me throughout the planning process, to listen to songs I picked, to give me info about photo sites and vendors, and to just “get excited” with you as you hire another vendor! The week leading up to the wedding was very stressful and Heidi helped me out by clearing up a minor issue with my DJ, and by calling everyone to put together the timeline.
The day of my wedding was better than I could have imagined. So many people commented to me that my wedding “ran so smoothly”. That was all Heizillas! Heidi and Brittany were awesome. They set up the church, cleaned up when the ceremony was over and made sure the hall was set up just as I wanted. They brought us drinks and snacks as we waited to be introduced and everything. I was blown away. It was a great feeling to just show up and be the bride. Everything was done just as I wanted, only I didn’t have to be the one to do it. There is not enough room here for me to tell you how happy I am they were there.
You owe it to yourself to hire heidzillas. You won’t regret it. Even people who had initially given me some grief about hiring a DOC said “WOW–good thing you hired them”. The only thing better than having your wedding go as perfectly as planned is hearing other people tell you that you were right :)
