jen & tim | august 28, 2010
ceremony: st. mary of the immaculate conception
reception: st. demetrios cultural center
florist: blooms by plantscaping
photographer: ewed photo
videographer: pixer productions
band: grand avenue band
transportation: a touch of class limousine
bakery: coley’s cakes
the hiring: tim is a long time friend of my husband. i’ve known jen and tim for as long as devin and i have been together as they started dating about 2-3 weeks before we did! our first double date was with them! :)
the planning: jen has followed my blog i think since the beginning (thanks jen :D). she mostly planned on her own but i was able to answer questions along the way. j&t also hired two of the wedding vendors they saw at my own wedding. she also found inspiration from the wedding i planned for jillian and kevin as you’ll see in her color choices and details!
the results:
rehearsal
i love rehearsals because everyone is always so excited and ready to go after all of the planning. most all of jen and tim’s bridal party knew each other in advance (some of the groomsmen go back as far as elementary school) so it made it even more fun.

it was also a sunny lovely day, albeit it was blinding on the altar for jen and tim. luckily saturday’s ceremony was at 1 pm and not 6 pm when the sun comes right through the windows.

passing of the gifts

and a few more shots from the rehearsal dinner!

ceremony
it was another gorgeous day and i couldn’t believe how on time or early we were running all day. the florist did a few greenery touches to the outside of the church.

the groomsmen were inside ready to usher and assist guests.

soon the bride and her maids arrived, guests were in place and it was time to start the ceremony!

and then they were man and wife!

reception
first up all of the fun black and magenta details!
the tasty cake was filled with white cake and ganache filling and chocolate cake with peanut butter filling!

there were four different centerpieces all with fun lighting.

the gorgeous back lit head table:

jen wasn’t sure what to do with the chairs since she doesn’t care for big poofy bows, but the “waterfall” chair tie technique was perfect for her style!

now for some fun events -
cake cutting!

a very personal and hilarious rhyming poem from the matron of honor:

time for dancing shoes!

grand avenue band rocking it out -

it’s hard to see but during the garter toss, it got stuck in the draping above! the videographer saved the day with his tripod.

congratulations jen and tim! it was my honor to help you on your special day – and be a guest!

the notables:
favorite planning moment: jen was describing the church layout to me the week before the wedding. she was explaining why she really needed my help coordinating because otherwise, what if no one told her to come into the church and she just fell asleep in the limo! i assured her she wouldn’t!
something blue pink!: jen had two pairs of the same shoes! one pair was ivory for the ceremony and formal photos. another pair she had dyed magenta for the on location photos and reception. she also coordinated a flower pin on her sash in the same colors to match.
unique detail: jen and tim were able to find several family wedding photos. a family member also got a photo taken at the ceremony printed for the reception display!
biggest challenge: ceremony processionals are tricky when churches have small foyers – or none at all. it was a challenge to line up the bridesmaids, have the aisle runner pulled through the doors and still hide the bride and her dad who were just outside at the same time!
sources: jen had the swag at the reception hung by off broadway in lorain.
fun fact: jen was maid of honor for her cousin on august 27, 2005. her cousin was matron of honor for her, five years and one day later!
