jen & brian – part 1: rehearsal & dinner

jen and brian had a really well-done rehearsal on friday evening which was run by andy, the pastoral associate for st. raphael’s. he did the nicest job explaining why it was the bride and groom and their bridal party members would be doing what they were doing. while i knew many of the symbolic references being a wedding coordinator and having been to so many rehearsals, it was really nice to hear them all and i’m sure even the other catholics in attendance learned or re-learned something about the traditional wedding mass.

after a few hints about where to hold bouquets and the gents’ arms on the next day, we did a run through processional.

jen chose to walk with both her dad and mom on saturday.

the hand off practicing as there was one more person involved in the handing-over.

places, places. over there, then over here…

mike checking.

an explanation about the pause father tim would take the next day after the homily and after communion.

the vows

visiting the blessed mother. this always involves a discussion of how long to stay or when in the song (typically ave maria) before heading back to that altar.

and ta da! the announcement!

following the rehearsal, brian’s parents hosted those who were involved in the ceremony at arrabiata’s in bay village for a lovely rehearsal dinner.

i had to prove to rachele (middle) that my camera could fit in more than two people at a time ;)

before dinner was served, brian and jen handed out presents to their bridal party members.

jen also surprised me with a present! i was so touched as it was so unexpected and…umm… it came in a BLUE BOX! BEST color there is when it comes to presents ;)

dinner arrived and clearly satisfied any hunger we had. i really enjoyed arrabiata’s sauce.

as an extra surprise, jen presented brian with a groom’s cake. early in planning stages, brian had joked that all he wanted for their wedding day was “kiss” cake. well he got one!
