being that the ceremony was at noon and the luncheon was finished up before 3:00, i had plenty of time before guests arrived at the quaker station to confirm all set up and take some photos. it was nice to not be rushed around! the cocktail hour took place in the more rustic side of the former station.
in the hallway before the main reception area, i placed meghan and cameron’s guestbook that was made of engagement photos they did with farro photography.
after the formal shoot throughout downtown cleveland and then around akron university campus, angela farro set up some sneak peeks of the photos that had been taken. guests who didn’t make it to the noon ceremony got to see some wonderful shots.
the first view guests got of the reception room:
there were three kinds of centerpieces by creations by lynn. low:
and very, very tall!
my favorite detail of the reception was the family photos table. meghan and cameron’s families found photos dating back past 1900, through the weddings of their parents.

in lieu of traditional favors, meghan and cameron made a donation to the american cancer society.
while i was around doing my reception fussing, bridget of flour girl came with the cake. i love watching the bakers pipe on the final details!
the final product – yum!
in addition to cake, the quaker station had a yummy coffee station with syrups, sauces and sprinkles. mmm… coffee.
finally we had guests!
after the buffet dinner, meghan and cameron took time to greet guests at their tables before it was time to cut the cake. shown below is angela giving the bride and groom some cutting tips.
after the first dance, a mother/daughter dance and mother/son dance, meghan tossed her bouquet to some eager ladies. whenever i see bouquet tosses, i’m reminded of high school basketball: BOX OUT! BOX OUT!

meghan’s mom, fran, meghan and cameron did a traditional polish unveiling ceremony, called oczepiny. meghan sat on cameron’s lap while fran took off her veil and pinned cameron’s boutonniere in meghan’s hair instead. meanwhile, the bridal party and family members circled around the bride and groom. once this “bride to wife” ceremony was done, the guests danced in a circle around meghan and cameron and sang “let me call you sweetheart.” it was a family tradition i hadn’t seen in person before.
speaking of traditions, in addition to the music of today that was played, a polka started off the fun earlier in the night. i got the pleasure of giving meghan’s aunt cindy a spin when she was left partnerless. we couldn’t have that, aunt cindy wanted to polka!

this will be one of my 2012 couples. *wink, wink* this future bride asked me to keep all dates open for her wedding. shout out to the awesome nurses at table 3. i felt safe to choke on my meal. luckily i didn’t… but i was in safe hands for sure if i had.

meghan and cameron, congratulations on your classy day! it was such a special one with your friends and family. i hope you enjoyed the browns season opener despite the loss (josh cribbs is the man, by the way) and have the BEST honeymoon in hawaii! i’m so jealous. thanks again for making me feel more like family than help!
