although many of my counterparts disagree with me, i really like rehearsals. everyone is excited and anticipating the next day. friends and family members from both sides are often meeting each other for the first time. for me, i’m meeting just about everyone for the first time and trying to learn as many names as i can for the next day. the anticipation of the next day is almost as fun as the actual day itself.
rehearsals also give me the opportunity to scout out the ceremony “venue”. for carolyn and jim, it was carolyn’s family’s church, st. francis of assisi. there are two things i love with church design: 1. stained glass windows. 2. awesome columns. st. francis of assisi has both. love it.

now let me sneak peek some of the decor. they hung these darling ribbon balls on the pews.
carolyn’s friend, rachel hirsch, helped her with all of the flower arrangements. carolyn’s father added all the branches. we decided we were going to hire him out part time to florists if anybody needs a branch-sticker, let me know. : )

and this was my faaaaaaaavorite. all of carolyn and jim’s decor was tied together with this little birdie monogram. it was super darling and appeared on the unity candle and programs and on some other reception decor i’ll be showing you soon!

the bride had this gorgeous permanent smile on her face for two days.
after the mingling, it was time to round up the troops for the rehearsal. father caddy knew a lot of the bridal party and referred to carolyn as “carrie”. i knew there was a lot of history there and it would be a special ceremony the next day.

these three were the show stealers. i mean flowergirls.
they were very willing to get special instructions from the bride…
… and did a great job with their pretend petals!
next up the bride and her father.
then, everyone learned their places…
…before we ran through the order of the mass.
another successful rehearsal!
