there are bound to be some good chuckles at weddings. they often to occur on the dance floor, definitely in speeches and sometimes when you least expect it. the funniest moment i’ve seen this year was at my friends maura & chris’s wedding on july 3. maura’s cousins served as flower girl and ring bearer. the young ring bearer had a bit of stage fright, but that didn’t stop his sister from dragging him the length of st. ann’s catholic church aisle — all the way to the front mind you — before letting him go. it was definitely a never-forget moment and a cute start to a beautiful ceremony.
runner up for funniest moment was at erin & david’s wedding on july 19. erin’s sister kelly gave one of the best matron of honor speeches ever, including comparing her and erin’s father’s younger looks to david. i was too far away from the head table at the time to get the moment where kelly held up the larger than life size photo of her father and the crowd burst into laughter, but genevieve and james nisly got a great shot of the poster during erin & david’s photobooth time. david really does look like his father in law, and the speech that went with it was belly-laughable. kudos kelly!
