one of tara’s favorite plans for her reception was hiring karen wall garrison, live event artist. this is one of those ideas you see at weddings where you go, “man! i wish i knew about that!” then, back in january, my wedding blogger friend, amy jean of relentless bride, was also on the hunt for a live event artist, when i suggested tara’s karen and she’s hired her too! so for tara and cj – and for amy jean :) – i made sure i took photos of the in-progress work just about every time i walked past karen who was positioned in a front corner with a great view of the reception:

karen was so fabulous not only as a painter, but also chatting up guests who stopped by to ask her what part of the painting she was working on, what she’d work on next and so on. she was as much a live event artist as she was extra guest entertainment!
the next day, during tara and cj’s brunch, i got to take some more detail shots of the painting…

…as well as some fun reaction shots of tara’s bridal party scoping out all of the details and even finding themselves in the painting.

be sure to see karen’s recap of working with tara and cj at the cleveland historical courthouse or you can also catch her on twitter.
