jennifer & robert – part 2: ceremony

when i arrived at stan hywet on saturday morning, the ladies were just finishing their hair and make up. kerry rihtar from all eyes on you handled the make up and did a lovely job on the bride, maids, jr. maids, flower girls and shown here with the mother of the bride:

jennifer asked me to be sure the lanterns were hung near the ceremony site, so I took my first walk of about eight down to the teahouses to see her cute orange lanterns all ready to go:

as well as several chairs set up on both sides of the aisle for immediate family and guests who would be unable to stand for the duration of the ceremony:

somewhere in here i was looping the property gathering the groomsmen to pin bouts on them and making sure the bride and her maids were getting lunch and had everything they needed. after that, marisa from imagen photography, who was second shooting with mark davidson, and i escorted groom robert  to the trellis area to await his bride for their first look photos:

i left them there and headed back to the carriage house to cue jennifer:
let's go do first look!

i didn’t get any of my own shots of their “first look” as i was tending to the parents of the couple at the time, but here’s one of photographer mark davidson’s. i love jennifer’s expression! and her darling dimples!

while they were doing that, i was searching the grounds – from the parking lot to the manor house and back to the carriage house, for the parents and grandparents who had just arrived so i could pin them with their gorgeous flowers from hosanna designs. i loved that jennifer chose different flowers for each groomsman that matched up with their bridemaid-partner’s bouquets.

i found the last set of grandparents near the manor house where robert, jennifer and their bridal party were doing really cool formal photos with mark and marisa. here’s my in-action shot:
these shots turned out great, too.
and here’s the result from mark davidson:

the group finished photos just in time to head back to the carriage house to be out of guests’ view as they pulled into the parking lot. a short while later, john from the stan hywet staff retrieved the maids in waiting…

…and the jr maids and flower girls who were thrilled it was time at last for the wedding.
these steps were a doozy

like i mentioned yesterday, the staff at stan hywet took care of so many logistics for the day and were just wonderful to work with. and, it was so nice, they were able to tram/golf cart the bridal party around whenever possible. here they were on the way to meet the bride…

… and into “the well.”

after just a couple of last minute adjustments, the ladies were ready to process!

(somewhere in here i assisted the bride and her parents to the end of the 550’ aisle, where we realized no one had the programs! i was able to get the groom’s keys, to his car and get the programs back up to the tea houses to pass them out *right* before the processional officially started.)

once that was done, i caught a few more shots of the ceremony…
