an open letter to american commodore tuxedo

dear american commodore tuxedogreat northern mall location

i have a quick question for you. do your sales associates earn commission if they rent ivory shirts to grooms/men instead of white shirts? or, are they trained to *only* suggest ivory ones? or… did actux corporate  get some great deal on ivory shirts years ago, so you don’t have as many white shirts to rent out?

i ask this because when my husband and i went to rent tuxes for him, 6 groomsmen and our 2 dads, the sales associate insisted that my “diamond white” romona keveza dress was going to look *dingy* if we got white shirts. she told me 6 times. it was difficult, but i restrained from telling the sales associate where she could shove your ivory shirts.

last week, one of my brides-to-be was at your store and text messaged me to get my opinion on what shirts to order, because despite her black-white-magenta color scheme, your sales associates were suggesting ivory again… and just today, my bff codi went to the same actux location as my client last week and we did, and again, ivory shirts were highly suggested for her black-green-white color scheme wedding. her fiance thought she was being rude to go against the sales associate’s recommendation!

am i missing something? i know i’m no fashion designer, but what is so wrong with white???? it’s *wedding* attire for pete’s sake. why do you insist on making brides-to-be second guess themselves and feel bratty for wanting your white shirts? your ivory shirts don’t cost any more than the white ones. your microfiber shirts that are $5 more/rental come in ivory or white.

please, please, please stop forcing your ivory shirts on my brides and grooms-to-be who don’t want them.

thanks.

sincerely,

heidzilla

Valerie - We had the same problem with them too!! We cancelled with them and decided to go with Tuxedo Junction in Great Northern Mall. They were a heck of a lot more curteous and responsive to what WE wanted. :D February 15, 2009 – 6:12 pm
