i have cnn on right now, and i’m watching as president obama and first lady michelle obama dance the night away going from one ball to another. her dress is absolutely goooooorgeous and could totally double as an amazing wedding dress. at the first of many balls the couple are attending this evening, the president was quoted as saying, ”First of all, how good-looking is my wife?” totally gorgeous, mr. president. seriously, what bride-to-be wouldn’t kill for those toned arms!?

the dress is from jason wu, a 26 year old taipei native and up and coming fashion designer. if you like flowy and feminine, you must check out his site! in addition to the dress michelle is sporting tonight, i also saw two more jason wu dresses that would make beautiful wedding gowns.

from spring ’09 collection (very similar to michelle’s one-of-a-kind dress, made especially for the First Lady… that is made of ivory silk chiffon, embellished with organza and Swarovski crystal rhinestones and silver thread embroidery, according to one of Wu’s publicists.)
now, back to the obamas! how in love are these two?
i saw this photo on dc newlyweds’ blog and just stopped and smiled. i’m sure many brides and grooms can relate to this feeling from the end of their wedding day: so exhausted and so thrilled and happy and in love.
(i’d have to guess election day and today trumped their wedding day as the BEST days of their lives?)
