you’re not going to believe this, because i can hardly do.
so remember how i mentioned that a certain massive drycleaners chain in my area completely ruined my rehearsal dinner bcbg dress? well as paul harvey says, i have “the rest of the story.”
my husband took the dress back to the dry cleaners. (yes, my husband took it. he originally dropped it off and picked it up… and the dry cleaners hours are during my work hours.) the manager explained all the reasons why the $$$ bcbg dress was faulty. cheap dye, etc. etc… he even sent my husband home with a rag with the dye from the bottom of the dress to show me. after all that, he offered to dry clean it again free of charge… well, um… you’ve already ruined it once, do you want us to let you ruin it more? regardless of the dye, the top is not satin-y anymore AND somehow whatever they did made the hem completely come out. okay, i’m groveling now… the point of the story is, they didn’t have much more to say than let us clean it again and sorry for your bad luck.
so i took the dress back to the bcbg maxazria department at my local dillards. i explained what happened. the lovely associate, angie, asked if the drycleaner had us sign a waiver to launder the dress, which they hadn’t. we discussed the drycleaner situation for a bit and we decided that for all future bcbg purchases, i’d take my dresses to the bcbg retail location near me (where she actually usually works) and they’d take the dress to their dry cleaners that launders things properly.
but here’s the “you’re not going to believe this” part: she put the entire amount i paid for the dress (in june by the way… well over the dillards 90 day return policy) on a gift card. then, with the gift card, i purchased the same dress from a dillards in cincinnati that will be shipping it to me free of charge and with a lower sales tax than where i bought it. AND the dress is 30% off now. so i have a MAJOR balance on my gift card. enough to say buy these new shoes to wear with the dress in the future?
thank you angie k from bcbg at beachwood mall (BCBGMAXAZRIA – Beachwood Place, 26300 Cedar Road, Beachwood, OH 44122 USA, 216.378.2224) and thank you dillards at great northern mall. i have new found faith in the retail system. and i will definitely feel comfortable spending money on bcbg in the future!!! as for the dry cleaners, well i’ve already had several recommendations for a new one.

Best NY - Try a certified couture garment care professional.
I’m up in Albany, we do have folks mail there items from all over the place. There are several good cleaners in your area though – http://www.americasbestcleaners.com is a third party certification organization – they should be able to point you in the right direction.
