if you missed my sneak peek of rebecca & daniel’s wedding it’s here with a reception vendor list.
let me start by saying how much FUN i had with the bride and groom. rebecca and daniel are such good people and their friends and family made sure i was having a good time, not vice versa!:-D the best man, dan’s brother, even stopped by my table after dinner to ask if he could get ME anything… TOUCHE! rebecca is SOOO funny, too. her wedding planning commentary (even via phone just a few hours before her ceremony) cracked me up! thank you SO much for letting me be a part of your big day, you two are great!!!
now, down to business:
friday night, we were able to go to the avon lake american legion to set up the table overlays, votives, and much of the other decor.

on saturday, i got there about three hours before guests started to arrive to “play florist” :) and cut and placed all the votive cup roses. rebecca made the table numbers with vellum paper. for favors, they boxed chocolates, yum!

the bride designed all of the decor, except the centerpieces and chair covers that were from roses for weddings.

i overheard the legion coordinator say that he’d never seen the room look so nice! woo hoo rebecca!

in lieu of a traditional guest book, rebecca and dan opted for a signature frame. it was placed with in memory photos of their family members:

the seating assignments were shown on this framed alphabetical list:

the cake was by sweet melissa’s in rocky river. rebecca provided the ribbon and jeweled the super sparkly cake topper herself!

i loved all the guest photographers while rebecca and dan fed each other cake:

i was in charge of cutting/serving the cake. it was VERY good. four layers – all with white cake. two had buttercream filling, one was raspberry and the fourth was chocolate fudge! i just got the frosting off of my rings today, oops.

here’s a shot of the head table while the maid of honor, sharon, gave a great toast to the couple:

the legion hall catered a very nice buffet of salad, roast beef with au jus, chicken, rice pilaf, mixed vegetables, oven roasted potatoes and rolls with butter. the staff was super nice and really helpful.

rebecca bought some large apothecary jars to serve cookies provided by the legion. the life savers say “love savers” on them with their names. i placed some extra hurricane vases with pillar candles that rebecca had bought for centerpieces but didn’t need… and voila! a cookie/candy buffet:

luckily, the organized bride had some cake boxes ready because there was SO much cake left. i even cut BIG slices and there was still over 50 pieces for guests to take home:

while the guests danced the night away to music provided by dj brandon of midnight music (boy were they good at the electric slide, the cha cha slide and the cupid shuffle! :-D) i packed up the bride’s parents’ car with their gifts and cute card box:

it was a wonderful reception for a wonderful couple! congratulations again, rebecca & daniel!!!
