last night (10/30) was svetlana & sandor’s rehearsal at the st. sava serbian orthodox church. first of all, i have to gush about this church. it is SO beautiful. (keep in mind the lighting was low and i was using a regular point-and-shoot digital for these photos.)
there are mosiacs everywhere – including on the dome ceilings. there is also this really amazing chandelier:
tomorrow (11/1) i’ll be helping to line up and time the bridal party, including their “elder witnesses,” parents, maid of honor and best man, a ring bearer and then the bride.
because there’s not a great place to hide the bride in the foyer area, i’ll be signaling her from the limo for her grand entrance :)
the cultural ceremony is very interesting! i anticipate a lot of it to be done in serbian. also, the bride walks down with her father to the groom, but the groom faces the alter/wall the entire time. he doesn’t see the bride until she is at his side.
in lieu of engagement photos, svetlana and sandor decided to use that time in their package to have corey ann get some shots at the rehearsal ceremony and dinner. here’s corey ann in action!
after the ceremony, the receiving line starts right away before guests gather outside to toss rice… and money! (hopefully the bride and groom won’t get any coins in the face?)
afterwards, friends and family gathered at eddie’s creekside restaurant in brecksville for a lovely dinner.
i’m very excited to see how the ceremony goes in its entirety tomorrow! tonight, we head to carrie cerino’s to drop everything off for set up.
